British man dies while snorkelling on holiday despite attempts to save him

A British man has reportedly died while snorkelling on holiday in the Caribbean. According to local media, the incident happened in St Kitts, where the man, a passenger on board P&O's Britannia cruise ship, had arrived on Monday.

He was part of a group that reportedly included his wife and daughter, who went on a snorkelling trip at Peninsular Cove, South East Peninsular. It was there that the incident happened.

According to the St Kitts and Nevis Observer, the man was brought out of the water and another tourist tried to revive him, but was unsuccessful. He was pronounced dead by the District Medical Officer.

His cause of death has not yet been confirmed. Police are awaiting the results of a post mortem.
