British Jeffrey Epstein survivor joins calls for Donald Trump to release files on disgraced financier

A British survivor of Jeffrey Epstein's sexual abuse has joined calls for Donald Trump to release all files connected to the disgraced paedophile financier.

Anouska de Georgiou, 48, met Epstein as a teenager in London, but was sexually assaulted by him “for several years” at his homes in the Caribbean.

Six years ago, the actress and former Playboy model became the first woman from the United Kingdom to publicly allege she was abused by Epstein, who committted suicide while awaiting trial a New York jail in 2019 aged 66.

Now de Georgiou has pleaded with the US president to reveal information about Epstein and his longtime associate Ghislaine Maxwell — who is currently serving a 20-year sentence for sex trafficking.

She was one of 10 Epstein victims — along with dozens of survivors of rape and sexual assault — who gathered for a press conference in Washington DC on Wednesday.

It came after the House Oversight Committee uploaded 33,000 pages of documents related to Epstein after it subpoenaed the Justice Department, although most details were already publicly available.

Democratic and Republican congressmen have also demanded greater transparency from the US Government by proposing the Epstein Files Transparency Act.

The legislation would require officials to make all files related to Epstein publicly available within 30 days if it is passed by Congress.

However, Mike Johnson, the speaker of the House of Representatives is opposed to the petition, as is the White House.

I am no longer weak. I am no longer powerless. And I am no longer alone.

Speaking at the rally on Capitol Hill, Ms de Georgiou said that there is only one reason for not signing onto the bill.

She said: “To be clear: the only motive for opposing this bill would be to conceal wrongdoing. You have a choice: stand with the truth or with the lies that have protected predators for decades.”

Ms de Georgiou also made a direct plea to Mr Trump, saying: “I am no longer weak. I am no longer powerless. And I am no longer alone.

“And with your vote, neither will the next generation be. President Trump, you have so much influence and power in this situation. Please use that influence and power to help us.”

Mr Trump has come under fire for not releasing the files — breaking a campaign promise — with some questioning his ties to Epstein.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Mr Trump was told in May that his name appears multiple times in Epstein files, along with other high-profile figures.

Mr Trump was friendly with Epstein in the 1990s and 2000s, appearing multiple times on flight logs for his private plane.

However, Mr Trump insists their friendship ended before Epstein's legal troubles first began two decades ago.

Officials also told Mr Trump they did not plan to release more documents, because they include child pornography and private information.
