
It’s decision day for Warren Gatland and his team of coaches as the squad for this summer’s British & Irish Lions tour of South Africa is set to be unveiled.
After months of debate and discussion, team chairman Jason Leonard will name the 36 men from England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales that will make up his touring party to take on the defending world champions.
The Lions will take on Japan at Murrayfield before heading to South Africa for a series of warm-up games throughout July, with a three-Test series to follow starting on July 24.
Accorrding to reports, Wales great Alun Wyn Jones is set to be named captain after edging out England forward Maro Itoje.

It’s all very precise. The Lions captain is due to be confirmed at 12:09pm BST on Thursday, May 6, 2021.
The squad announcement is then set to follow shortly after, getting underway at 12:28pm.
