British Grand Prix LIVE: Lewis Hamilton wins claims record sixth win at Silverstone ahead of Bottas and Leclerc
Lewis Hamilton took victory in the British Grand Prix for a record sixth time, moving him clear of Alain Prost and Jim Clark as the most successful driver at Silverstone, though it did not come without it's drama in a thrilling race.
Hamilton inherited the lead when the safety car was deployed due to a spin for Antonio Giovinazzi, with Valtteri Bottas already pitting where Hamilton had not. Behind them, a raging battle between Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc ended in favour of the Ferrari man, but only after Verstappen was taken out of third when battling with Sebastian Vettel - who received a 10-second penalty for the collision.
Verstappen was able to salvage fifth place behind his Red Bull teammate Pierre Gasly, while Vettel finished down in 15th. Re-live the action below.
So as Lewis Hamilton prepares for his 13th British Grand Prix, he's in for a bit of a surprise as his chauffeur for the drivers' parade is revealed to be his father, Anthony, who is waiting for him out on the grid, with brother Nick in the passenger seat in what is a rather special moment for the Hamilton family.
Let's take a look back at how qualifying played out...
For a long time it looked as though Leclerc would be the man to beat in qualifying, with the Ferrari top of the timesheets in Q1 and Q2. But when it came to the final shootout, there was no stopping the Mercedes as Bottas and Hamilton embarked on a battle of their own.
Hamilton made a big mistake at Brooklands on his first run that handed Bottas the initiative, and even though he hooked it up for his second run, Bottas' time proved to be just out of reach.
It's proving a rather special drivers' parade today, with the Alfa Romeo 158 - the car that took Nino Farina to victory in the first ever Grand Prix back in 1950 - leading the way, with Sir Frank Williams also in attendance to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Williams' first win in the British Grand Prix.
Today might see one of the more intersting tyre battles of the season, with plenty of drivers believing that the Pirellis will not hold on for a one-stop strategy. That could bring in the unpredictability of one-stop vs two-stop strategies, with the latter expected to be slightly longer but enabling drivers to push at 100 per cent for the race.
The green light is on at the end of the pits and the paddock roars into action as cars drivers embark on their reconnassaince laps before making their way to the grid.
The national anthem is over and done with, meaning drivers can return to their cars and finally prepare for lights out. Just 15 minutes until we're underway.
Red Bull are changing the rear wing on Verstappen's car, with Christian Horner confirming there was an issue with one of the end plates that the FIA gave permission to change. Horner appears confident that the work will be completed before the grid is cleared, so it looks like it's back to business as usual at Red Bull.
They are doing the same on Gasly's car, so it appears a part malfunction has been spotted by the Red Bull team just minutes before the race gets underway.
There's not much sun in the sky and rain has been reported as close as Milton Keynes. A shower is expected around 3pm, halfway through the race, though if rain does arrive it's not expected to be serious enough to force drivers into pitting for inters. Then again, this is Silverstone...
Both Red Bulls are away, but work on both cars was only completed 60 seconds before the formation lap begun. Will that have an impact on their race? We're about to find out.
