British Grand Prix 2025: Start time, grid positions, how to watch race and weather forecast today

Silverstone hosts what could be one of the most exciting British Grand Prix in years.

Max Verstappen starts from pole position but Lando Norris has predicted a six-way fight to win the race on Sunday.

Just 0.23 seconds separated the top six on the grid in qualifying and Norris has said “there is opportunity for everyone”.

Oscar Piastri heads to the iconic Northamptonshire circuit with his championship lead over title rival Norris trimmed to just 15 points after the latter’s victory at the Austrian Grand Prix last weekend.

The duo once again jostled for supremacy at the Red Bull Ring two weeks after colliding in dramatic fashion in Canada, but this time there was to be no contact as Norris held his nerve to deliver a third victory of the season after earlier triumphs in Australia and Monaco.

Norris will hope to continue that fightback on home soil this weekend, though could only qualify third on Saturday as both McLarens fell behind a blistering last-gasp lap from Verstappen, who clinched pole position to bounce back from his early exit at Red Bull’s home race in Austria that followed a collision with Kimi Antonelli, who has a three-place penalty here as a result.

George Russell took fourth for Mercedes, with nine-time British Grand Prix winner Lewis Hamilton having to make do with fifth spot on the grid for Ferrari.

Fellow Briton Oliver Bearman will start 18th rather than eighth for Haas after being hit with a 10-place grid penalty and received four penalty points on his super license after a red flag infringement during the third practice session earlier on Saturday.
