British EuroMillions winner comes forward to claim £122m jackpot - and instantly joins rich list

A lucky Brit has claimed Good Friday's monster £122m EuroMillions jackpot.

The mystery ticket holder is set to be the fifth biggest winner in UK lottery history.

And the Mirror report s that overnight, they will become the 976th richest person in the country.

“What an Easter weekend for one lucky player," said Camelot’s Andy Carter, senior winners’ advisor at The National Lottery.

The ticket still needs to be checked before they get their hands on an incredible £122,550,350.80 prize.

However Mr Carter added: "They have become the fifth biggest winner in UK National Lottery history and have a fortune which can make their dreams come true.

"We will now look to support the ticketholder through the process and help them to start to enjoy their life changing-win.”

The ticketholder will be two places above Frances Connolly in The National Lottery Rich List.

Frances, who won £114million in 2019, recently revealed she had given away an estimated £60million of her fortune to family, friends, the local community and charity.

And, according to The Sunday Times Rich List, their fortune will top Heavyweight World Champion Anthony Joshua (£107million) and Spurs winger Gareth Bale (£114million).

This is the second EuroMillions jackpot won in the UK this year.

On New Year’s Day a single UK ticketholder, who choose to remain anonymous, banked £39million.

In 2020 four EuroMillions jackpots were won in the UK. The country’s biggest ever win was a £170million jackpot won by an anonymous ticketholder on October 8, 2019.
