A woman has been filmed splayed out on the floor of a city, with 11 other zombie-like men crashed out.
The worrying footage emerged of the disturbing scene filmed near a Sheffield supermarket as paramedics can be seen rushing to her aid.
The clip, which was to Facebook shows a woman and a man lying on the floor with others seen sitting motionless on a bench and on a wall which surrounds the Tesco Extra store in Burngreave.
Paramedics can be seen arriving at the scene after parking one of area's main shopping streets, which is home to multiple retail and food outlets.
It is not known exactly what they were responding to reports of but Yorkshire Live contacted Yorkshire Ambulance Service for a statement regarding this particular callout.
On the Sheffield Online Facebook page, the scene was likened to popular TV show The Walking Dead, with one commenting on how this is a regular occurrence in the area.
A concerned woman said: "This is a daily occurrence in Pitsmoor. Whenever I go to Tesco shopping I see them all sat around drinking and takings drugs."
Another wrote: "They really don’t have no shame, poor kids on buses etc will be seeing that it’s disgusting, no respect at all."
A third commented: "If this isn't evidence of how urgently we need to invest in vital mental health services, then I don't know what is.
"Waiting lists stretch up to two years when people are in crisis right now. There is little intervention support available and virtually no prevention.
"The NHS is only going to become more inundated with cases like these whilst austerity continues. People are not coping. Unemployment is up, the hold on evictions is ending in a few weeks.
"People cannot afford basics. Many feel they have nothing left to fight for and it's heartbreaking."
Others called for extra funding to help people with a substance abuse problem.
One man said: "Lack of mental health support and services across the country is the reason for a lot of this. I bet half of these people where subject to some sort of trauma at one stage of their lives which the system failed to help them with.
"Crying shame but all to common these days."
Agreeing with his sentiment, a woman commented: "If this isn't evidence of how urgently we need to invest in vital mental health services, then I don't know what is.
