A British base jumper died after plunging 3,000 metres in an Italian mountain range.
Jean Andre Quemener, 32, leapt from the edge of the peak in the Dolomites.
Gales reportedly sent the man crashing into a rock face after he lost control of his wing suit.
A helicopter soon located Jean Andre's body in a snow-filled gully near the Saas Pordoi mountain at Canazei, north of Venice.
Jean Andre, from Jersey, was killed instantly.
"From what I understand the British guy was in a camper friend with his friend and they decided to do the jump.
"She came down ok and then he went for it but the wind was too strong and it sent him careering into the side of the mountain," a witness told The Sun.
A police spokesman said:''We were called by mountain rescue to a fatal BASE jumping incident involving a British national and informed the relevant authorities. There was nothing that could be done.''
Last year, an expert British base jumper plunged 600ft to his death off a nearby peak.
Rob Haggarty failed to clear a ledge and was sent tumbling in an 'uncontrollable descent' to a ridge below, his inquest heard.
The 47-year-old was with a group of 26 fellow daredevils from around the world on the diving holiday.
The tragedy in the Monte Civetta range was filmed by a drone camera.
