British Airways hostess claims £36 Missguided dress caused £750 of damage

A British Airways stewardess claims her £36 Missguided dress caused damage worth more than £750.

Lily Richardson alleges that dyes in the midi-dress stained her hair extensions, false nails and brand new clutch bag.

The 20-year-old wore the Black Mesh Ruched Bardot dress for the first time on a night out on Friday.

But Lily, from Ditton, Kent, later realised her £500 Beautyworks hair extensions had been stained a greyish purple.

According to Lily, her £35 clutch bag was heavily stained and her £40 acrylic nails were left discoloured.

Despite washing her hair "thousands of times", the stubborn dye wouldn't budge, prompting Lily to pay a further £180 to have her extensions professionally removed.

The furious cabin crew member then took to social media to complain to the retailer.

She posted photos of the damage with the caption: "PSA- Do not purchase this dress from Missguided.

"It has stained everything it has come in touch with, my nails my hair and my handbag."

She then posted another tweet with a photo of her purple stained locks, saying: "Current state after 1000 washes."

Lily said earlier this week that she was still waiting for a proper response from the retailer.

She said: "I wore the dress on my work night out and hand washed it like it said on the label and online.

"I noticed my nails and nude bag turning black throughout the night.

"Then the next morning I took my hair down and noticed my hair was dyed black from the dress.

"The dress didn't get wet on the night out at all. I washed my hair loads and loads and it still hasn't come out.

"I am so disgusted with Missguided. This whole situation has cost me £755.

"I am so angry and upset and now have to pay out more money for something that is Missguided's fault."

Missguided did not respond to requests for a comment.
