British Airways flight from Las Vegas to London Heathrow declares medical emergency over Scotland

A British Airways flight from Las Vegas to London Heathrow declared a medical emergency while flying over Scotland.

The pilot of the Boeing 747 requested a priority landing at Heathrow after reporting a passenger was feeling unwell.

Medics were prepped to meet the plane on the tarmac when it was due to arrive just after 3pm on Monday.

A British Airways spokesperson said before the plane landed: "The pilot requested a priority landing due to an individual on board feeling unwell.

"The aircraft landed as normal and medical services met the flight to provide assistance.

"There is no further update at this time on the condition of the passenger."

The condition of the passenger in question was not yet known.
