A British Airways flight travelling from Edinburgh to London was forced to declare a mid-air emergency.
The British Airways flight BA1441 departed from Edinburgh Airport around 10am morning and was on route to Heathrow when the drama unfolded.
The Airbus A319-131 began squawking alert code 7700, declaring an emergency situation onboard the aircraft.
It's thought the flight was near the Lake District when it let out the emergency signal.
British Airways have confirmed the plane landed safely after pilots requested a priority landing due to a "minor technical issue".
A spokesperson for British Airways said: "Our pilots requested a priority landing into Heathrow, as a precaution due to a minor technical issue. The aircraft landed safely."
Earlier this week, a flight from Aberdeen was forced to return to the Scots airport after declaring a mid-air emergency.
The Eastern Airways plane from Aberdeen to Sumburgh in Shetland turned back about 15 minutes after taking off.
The aircraft made a U-turn over Strichen in Aberdeenshire and declared an emergency on-board before heading back to Aberdeen Airport.
