Britain's largest family the Radfords transform tired garden into incredible play park

Many families have undertaken some home improvement during lockdown, but Britain's largest family as gone one better and built themselves their very own play park.

Mum Sue, who recently gave birth to her 22nd child, showed off the results of their incredible lockdown DIY project -which saw them turnaround a scruffy backyard in just 48 hours, reports the Mirror.

The ambitious makeover began last week, with the whole clan getting stuck in to help level out the plot, leaving a mountain of rubble in their wake.

The family said despite the hard graft the mammoth task had "been fun and games."

Even son Archie, 2, was recruited into the project, happily helping out with broom and drill under dad Noel's careful supervision.

One person commented: “Omg don't know how u do it I have 4 children getting them motivated is so hard well done you have a lovely family please give me tips on how u get the children to listen lol.“

And just 48 hours later, on Tuesday, they created a water park and play area in their very own back garden which looks totally awesome.

It includes a swing set, slide, climbing frame as well as a mud kitchen.

They have also added some cute personalised teepees, with a comfy seating area for all the family.

Sue and Noel shared videos of the outdoor set-up on their Instagram Stories and YouTube showing their family enjoying the garden and enjoying some ice lollies.

Some also took their scooters for a whizz. on the astroturf.

Meanwhile, they also added a dinosaur-themed water feature which comes with a mini slide and a large paddling pool for the children to cool off in.

The couple bought the Victorian property, a former care home in Morecambe, more than 15 years ago and keep it in immaculate condition.

They first found fame in 2012 when their lives were the focus of a Channel 4 documentary called 15 Kids and Counting

Sue fell pregnant with her first child at age 13. Her and Noel run their own pie business and do not claim extra state benefits.

A number of their children have already flown the nest and are married and have children of their own.

The Radfords welcomed the 22nd baby to the family back in April with Sue announcing the news on Facebook.

Born on April 3, Sue and Noel revealed the name of the baby girl was Heidie Rose a few days later.

Although it was one of the strangest births for Sue, she claimed it was a great experience despite it being during the pandemic.

They also have children:

Chris, 31, Sophie, 25, Chloe, 24, Jack, 22, Daniel, 20, Luke, 19, Millie, 18, Katie, 17, James, 16, Ellie, 15, Aimee, 14, Josh, 12, Max, 11, Tillie, nine, Oscar, eight, Casper, seven, Hallie, four, Phoebe, three, Archie, two, and Bonnie, who turned one in November.

Sue recently told how people give them "death stares" when they go out for a walk during the Covid-19 lockdown as onlookers think they're having a social gathering.

She said: “It is funny really.

“People who don’t know we are a family think we are breaking the law by having a social gathering.

“We are getting death stares from people. They think we are having a kids’ birthday party or something.

“It looks like a small parade. I understand why people might give us looks, but there is nothing we can do."
