Britain's Got Talent winner Colin Thackery coming to Newcastle on tour

He stole the hearts of the nation and got millions of votes on his way to winning Britain's Got Talent earlier this year and Colin Thackery has announced his first ever tour, which includes a date in Newcastle.

From the Royal Hospital Chelsea, to the Britain's Got Talent Final, Colin Thackery made quite an impression from start to finish.

When the 89-year-old Chelsea Pensioner Colin Thackery told judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams that he was going to sing in honour of his late wife Joan, there was barely a dry eye in the house.

Even technicians behind the scenes were crying as Colin delivered an emotional performance of Wind Beneath My Wings in his audition, before winning his semi-final thanks to a rendition of We'll Meet Again and then triumphing in the final with his take on Michael Ball classic Love Changes Everything.

Since the show, Colin has become the oldest person to ever sign a record deal at the age of 89. His debut album Love Changes Everything’is out December 6 on Decca Records, in partnership with Syco.

The album title is also the name of Colin's headline tour which will see him perform his favourite songs from the album as well as his much-loved tracks from Britain’s Got Talent.

Colin, who will kick off the tour at the Tyne Theatre in Newcastle on Saturday, February 8 2020, will also be joined by acclaimed musical director, supervisor and conductor Jae Alexander.

Tickets will go on sale this Friday, September 21 at 9am from the Tyne Theatre box office and online from Ticketmaster.

Speaking about the new tour Colin says, “I am so excited to continue this journey and meet lots of new people”.
