Britain's Got Talent viewers in disbelief over unrecognisable Connie Talbot

Britain's Got Talent: The Champions viewers were in disbelief tonight over when Connie Talbot returned to the stage.

Connie wowed the judges and 11 million viewers during the very first series with her incredible voice and cute gap-toothed smile when she was six-years-old.

And viewers barely recognised Connie, who is now 18, when she walked into the arena for a special performance.

"Oh my god," said stunned Amanda Holden, who was left in tears by Connie's performance back in 2007.

Connie sang an original song, Never Give Up On Us, while playing the piano and got a standing ovation from the judges and the audience.

Taking to Twitter , one viewer said: "Omg look at Connie now! What a stunner, absolutely gorgeous. What a voice she has & what a song."

"Jesus little Connie is after growing up into an absolutely stunning young lady," added another.

A third agreed: "Wow Connie Talbot has changed a bit!!"

"Totally feeling my age now with Little Connie singing! Can't believe she's 18!!!," said a fourth.

After Connie's performance, Amanda admitted she was "absolutely astounded".

The judge said: "Blown away by that performance. And how much of a gorgeous young lady you’ve grown up to be. You’re stunning.

"It's a very brave thing to sing an original song but that was on point. Amazing technique and great piano playing. You’ve done yourself proud. I was so emotional during that."

Simon Cowell joked that she has teeth, then thanked Connei for making the show what it is today.

He added: "I will remember that first audition for the rest of my life. I don’t think we’d be sitting here today if it wasn’t for you so we owe you a massive thank you. You’ve come back once again as a star."

David Walliams joked that 12 years ago he was allowed to stay up late and watch Connie on his mother's knee.

"You know what you’re one of those acts that once seen is never forgot. I can see a huge future for you," added the comedian.

Alesha Dixon said: "Seeing you perform tonight is like watching a fairytale. It's so magical. And your performance was like a breath of fresh air."

Looking back on her time on BGT, Connie admitted it feels like someone completely different.

She said: "When I look back it is like it’s a different person, I was so small and had no teeth.

"I still can’t believe I made it to the final. It didn’t upset me that I didn’t win, I was happy to be there.

"It is a risk to put yourself back in front of the judges, but winning Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions would be the perfect ending."

After her performance, Connie said: "It was amazing. I was so nervous to sing one of my originals. I'm nervous singing it in front of one person let alone the whole of Wembley."

When asked about Connie’s offering, Amanda told the Mirror: “Firstly, I felt really old! Then I just felt kind of overwhelmingly proud of her, and of how our show is a platform for people who can realise ambitions and dreams.”
