Britain's Got Talent viewers complain as contestant ‘gets off’ with a harp in risque performance

We've seen some jaw-dropping acts over the years on Britain's Got Talent but this is a new one.

Forty-eight-year-old musician Ursula Burns provided a memorable performance when she appeared to get a little too intimate with her harp on the TV talent show.

Ursula prompted shrieks of laughter from the judges and the audiences when she strummed her harp in a rather unconventional way, lying down and writhing as she performed the Snow Patrol's Chasing Cars.

Judge Alesha Dixon said about the rather risque audition: "‘I thought 'she’s getting off with a harp, and I need to get me some of that!'"

And fellow judge Simon Cowell said: "That, I’ve got to tell you, don’t judge a book by its cover. "Seriously I take back everything I thought about harps."

Ursula, who said she started playing the harp because of her musician mum who inspired her, sailed through to the next round with a 'yes' from all four judges.

"That poor harp was violated," commented one viewer.

"I will never look at a harp in quite the same way again," said another.

Ursula shocked viewers (ITV)

"Don’t know what I just saw was expecting a person sitting down playing the harp but she threw it down and played the harp in funny ways," praised one impressed fan.

"Don’t usually like the harp but I have now changed my mind."

"She was cool," tweeted another.

But other viewers took to social media to question if the act was suitable for pre-watershed family viewing.

One tweeted: "Not exactly family viewing."

Another annoyed BGT asked the show: "Are you lowering the standard of talent this year?"

Ursula surprised the judges (ITV)

Another wrote: "And there was a standing ovation! the world has gone mad! such poor TV, sorry, it was very lame."

And the act was branded "tacky' by another viewer."
