Britain's Got Talent: The Champions branded 'rip-off Eurovision' by disgruntled viewers

It's back on our screens for six weeks but some Britain's Got Talent fans are not happy with the new format.

Viewers took to Twitter to complain it had all gone a bit Eurovision by adding acts from across the world in a 'champion of champions' showdown for the global TV franchise.

It was even noticed that the show had added a Eurovision-style green room for contestants to sit in backstage.

"Hang on it's gone all Eurovision. Where's Graham Norton?" asked one viewer.

"Rip off of Eurovision," complained another.

"So they’ve ripped of Eurovision?" asked a third.

"Aha they’ve got a green room thing like on Eurovision," commented another fan.

"Love that BGT have nicked the Eurovision green room concept," said another.

Viewers settling down to watch the likes of Paul Potts, Connie Talbot and Lost Voice Guy from the UK version were surprised to find that they're going to be mixed with global acts too.

"Oh so it's a global contest not a UK one?" said one fan.

But another praised: "This Britain's Got Talent best of best looks decent."

Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams are back with Ant and Dec at the presenting helm as they try to find the 'champion of champions'.

Old favourites - including previous winners - from the last 13 series of the ITV programme return to the BGT stage and battle it out to be crowned the show's ultimate winner.

The series will run for six weeks and see up to eight former contestants perform their act once again.

Then, two acts from each episode will make it to the grand final on October 5.

The episodes differ slightly from the normal Britain’s Got Talent format because the judges chose the act they want to see in the final by pressing their golden buzzer.

The second act through to the final will be chosen by the audience.
