Britain's Got Talent: Stavros Flatley announced as Simon Cowell's golden buzzer

Britain's Got Talent: The Champions is showing off some stiff competition - but Stavros Flatley smashed it.

The British-Greek-Cypriot father-son dance duo had the crowds screaming as the rollicked about the stage, and judge Simon Cowell was equally as impressed.

Simon poured praise on dad Demi Demetriou and son Lagi, before revealing he'd selected the pair as his choice for the golden buzzer.

Each of the judges has one golden buzzer, as do hosts Ant and Dec - it gives them the power during auditions to give acts a direct route through to the semi-finals.

Stavros Flatley were Britain's Got Talent finalists in the third series of the show, way back in 2009.

They're going up against acts such as series two winner and street dancer George Sampson and this year's winner Colin Thackery.

Colin sang a rendition of Ed Sheeran's heart-breaking ballad Supermarket Flowers, as a tribute to his late wife Joan, who died in 2016.

He is the oldest ever winner of Britain's Got Talent, at the age of 89. He's a Korean War veteran, and gave his deeply moving performance in the traditional scarlet uniform of the Royal Artillery.

Simon emotionally told Colin when his performance was done how proud of him he was. David Walliams , Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden reiterated the feeling.

Colin gave a salute to the judges and audiences after they cheered and lauded him.

David Walliams awarded his golden buzzer to dancers Paddy and Nicko in third week, to the upset of some fans.

Alesha Dixon gave hers to sand animation performance artist Kseniya Simonova, whilst Ant and Dec gave theirs to young Alexa Lauenburger and her troupe of dancing dogs.
