Britain's Got Talent star unidentifiable after hair transplant due to iconic dance move

A Britain's Got Talent star is now unrecognisable after a hair transplant caused by alopecia and one of his iconic street-dance skill moves.

George Sampson is arguably one of the best talents to have come from the ITV talent competition show, Britain's Got Talent, and became an instant favourite on his second season of the series.

A Warrington-born boy, George first made his appearance on Britain's Got Talent on it's debut season, but judge Simon Cowell failed to convince fellow panellists Amanda Holden and Piers Morgan that he was the next best thing.

However, after going out early, George returned the second season running and progressed all the road to the final of the ITV show.

He eventually was crowned the winner with his unbelievable routine to the song Singin' in the Rain - fighting off acts Signature and Andrew Johnston to showcase his dancing skills.

He was only 14 years old when he was crowned victorious on the show, and performed at the prestigious Royal Variety Performance as a result.

He then went on to split from Cowell's label a year later, but went even further in showbiz, appearing on the West End for hip hop show, Into The Hoods.

He featured on popular soaps Emmerdale, Waterloo Road and was in a film called Street Dance 3D, alongside Britain's Got Talent alumni, Diversity.

After all this amazing roles, George's skills caught up with him and he had to undergo a hair transplant in 2017 when he began to bald at just 23 - due to a combination of alopecia, genetics, and even his signature head spinning move, which he is famous for.

On This Morning back in 2017, George said: "It's not only for my own confidence but also being in my line of work which is very image orientated and unfortunately I felt my hair (lack of) could affect my work.

"I spend so much time doing my hair (well Lauren does) to try and cover up as much as I can and to make use of the hair I do have. I've decided I've had enough of that, I want my own hair, I am only 23 so balding seems like something which happens to older men so I decided I will go through with the transplant.."

Now 28-years-old, George can feel confident with his self-image and also boasts sleeve tattoos on both his arms, in a bit of a more bad-boy look.

In 2019, George returned to Britain's Got Talent for a Champions edition, and revealed that he suffered an injury that almost ended his career.

He said at the time: "Around a year after winning Britain’s Got Talent I sustained a really bad back injury, and doctors told me I might not ever be able to dance again.

"To be told bluntly, 'no', was devastating. I’m stubborn. There was no chance I was going to stop dancing. It’s been a long road to recovery but I’ve worked hard and I’m back. This is another two minutes of my life that can change everything so I’ve given everything and you’ll see everything."

After his amazing performance, the crowd went wild and he teared up, saying: "I wouldn’t change it for anything. It's been the most amazing time in my life. I owe it all to this show."
