Britain's Got Talent: Scots singer Ferdinand Rennie leads audition line-up as ITV show returns

Britain's Got Talent is returning to our screens this weekend and Scottish viewers are in for a treat.

The judges are also back for their 10th series together with Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams all making up the panel.

After missing a year due to Covid the show producers more than make up for it with the latest cast of talented contestants.

The opening show will begin at 8pm on ITV 1 on Saturday, April 16 with a follow-up episode the following day at 7.35pm as auditions get underway across the Easter weekend.

Here's a look at whose taking part in order of their appearance on Saturday night's episode, with Scotland being represented by Dunoon's singer and songwriter Ferdinand Rennie, in the last section of the very first episode.

PART 1

Titan the Robot – If you thought that Britain's Got Talent was just for human contestants then think again as Titan the Robot sings and performs a comedy routine. We're not sure where Titan hails from but we'd imagine his backstage rider would consist of plentiful oil.

Matricks Illusion – Britain's Got Talent is always known for it's impressive outfits and we bet Cornwall's brother and sister illusionists Alex and Emily have lots to show off as they perform a quick change routine on the show. The siblings are aged 29 and 27 respectively, and come from Michaelstow.

Jamie Leahey – 'Gottle of gear' anyone? Schoolboy Jamie performs a ventriloquism act with his puppet Chuck. Will this double act give Ant and Dec a run for their money. Jamie is just 13 and comes from St Helens in Merseyside.

PART 2

Les Sancho is a dance group from Marseille, France who have been on France's Got Talent. There's a squad of them. Could they be the next Diversity? They range in age from 24 to 31, so no tiny dancers in the line up, but we can feel our feet tapping already.

Scooter Boys – We didn't know if there as a lower age limit for Britain's Got Talent but judging by the ages of this Scooter quartet, it appears not. They perform a fast-paced routine and are aged from, wait for it, just 6 to 10 years old.

PART 3

Temple London – This Martial arts family appear to have been on America's Got Talent where they wowed audiences overseas. This time their act involves a performance of a high-impact routine from family members aged 12 to 33.

Savannah & Cali with Tracey - The three and four year old daughters of Nick Edwards and their 64 year old grandmother decide to surprise their dad Nick in the audience of the talent show.

Nick Edwards who is a 35 year old singer from Doncaster in South Yorkshire then performs an original song about his daughters.

PART 4

Jim Fitzpatrick – Jim is a 'Costume dancer' who will perform a routine to Little Bird by Annie Lennox. Does his act have wings or will he become tomorrow's feather duster? Jim is 63 years old from Streatham, in London.

The Phantom - It's not often you can say this, but is this the greatest or worse act you've never seen? The Phantom performs an 'invisible act'. Invisible acts still have an age though and The Phantom is 36 from Wood Green, London. At least oyu might not be able to see any wrinkles.

PART 5

Ferdinand Rennie - From Dunoon, Ferdinand is aged 62 years old and performs his 'own rendition' of Never Enough.

Ferdinand grew up in Austria but is a Scottish citizen now and lives in the west coast of Scotland where he works as a singer and songwriter with his husband and their entertainment and fashion company Fabscots Ltd.

His rendition of You Raise Me Up with Chelsea Fontenel has over 1.2 million views on his YouTube alone and Ferdinand has a whole host of original songs online including his most recent, Chase The Sun, produced my Mikal Blue.

He is also married to International fashion designer Brian Rennie who was design director for Escada and Gant and a host of Hollywood stars, and now has his own atelier.

Loren Allred – Singer Loren Allred is a name those who are huge musical lovers may recognise as she is best known for her jaw-dropping vocal performance of “Never Enough” on the Oscar nominated and Grammy award winning “The Greatest Showman”.

She is 32 years old form Brooklyn and also performs Never Enough on the show.
