Britain's Got Talent's Simon Cowell taken in by act's lie during audition

Simon Cowell was made to look a fool on Saturday night's Britain's Got Talent as he was completely taken in by an act's lie at their audition.

Simon has already picked his Golden Buzzer act for this year, with him sparking some controversy with his choice, comedian Axel Blake, after viewers found out that he already his own TV show. Little gets passed the notoriously hard to please TV and music mogul but he fell hook, line and sinker for a trick played by The Dots.

The vocal harmony girl group were the first act on stage on Saturday's Britain's Got Talent and, before their song had started, they told the panel that they had to make a hasty line-up change after an original member had quit due to 'creative differences.' As his ears pricked up, Simon asked them to explain what had gone on, reacting: "Hang on, hang on. Don't just throw that away. What happened?"

The girls told him the members was "a bit difficult," with them adding that replacement Dot, Kathy, had never performed with them before. However it soon became apparent that the story was all part of the act as Kathy was deliberately doing the opposite to the other two. As the penny dropped for him, Simon mumbled: "Ah okay! I am stupid aren't I?"

The Dots' chaotic routine which saw wigs and skirts come flying off, as well as one of the Dots left 'bleeding' due to a microphone mishap, received a rapturous reception from the audience at the London Palladium and when it came for Simon to give his comments, the judge did some serious backtracking, saying: "I knew that was part of the act," before adding: "I'm actually getting really stupid aren't I? That was brilliant by the way because you really, really fooled me."
