Britain's Got Talent's Nabil Abdulrashid stands by performance amid complaints from viewers

Britain's Got Talent finalist Nabil Abdulrashid has stood by his performance amid complaints from viewers.

The comedian returned to the ITV show on Saturday night for his bid to be crowned the 2020 winner.

It comes after more than 700 complaints were made to Ofcom about Nabil's semi-final performance as some feel he may have gone too far with jokes about his race and religion.

But he remained defiant and come back with an even bigger routine as he tackled a range of issues from racism, politics and he even poked fun at the Ofcom complaints the ITV talent show has received this year.

The complaints on social media shortly followed, with some BGT viewers upset with a joke about British Prime Minister Winston Churchill.

However, others thought Nabil was robbed of the big win.

Taking to Twitter, Nabil said: "Thanks for all the support guys. Didn't get the “W” today but don't worry.. the marathon continues. Love you all #teamnabil#nabilarmy.

"I came to make a point and I think I did."

This year's winner made history as the first golden buzzer act to win the show.

Ant and Dec's choice Jon Courtenay, from Greater Manchester, was announced as the 2020 champion, winning £250,000 and spot at the Royal Variety Performance.
