Britain's Got Talent 2019 date confirmed as Ant and Dec give first look

Britain's Got Talent is returning to TV in just two weeks' time.

The reality TV series had been slated for an April air date and now David Walliams has confirmed the launch show will go out on Saturday April 6th.

He shared a new promo picture for the series on his Instagram page and wrote: "I have no idea what I am pointing at but @bgt is back on @itv on Saturday 6th of April."

It means the show will be back on ITV in just two weeks.

Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly also shared the promo pic and joked they were a bit "overdressed" for their Britain's Got Talent comeback as they turned out in tuxedos.

In the snap, the Geordie stars are seen alongside judges Amanda Holden , Alesha Dixon and David Walliams , who also dressed up, while Simon Cowell looked relaxed in jeans and a white shirt.

Ant and Dec captioned the snap:"Ever felt really overdressed!? Here we go again. Can’t wait for you to see the new #BGT , coming this April..."

This series of BGT will follow the usual format, but Simon has confirmed he's launching a new version of Britain's Got Talent later this year as part of his extensive TV overhaul.

The telly mogul, 59, revealed the normal series will air along with a new version called Britain's Got Talent: The Champions.

It will feature winners from previous series and be hosted by regular presenters Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly.

The new show is slated to air in the autumn, filling a slot left vacant by Simon's revamped X Factor .
