Britain's Got Talent judges rush on stage after disastrous technical error

The Britain's Got Talent judges rushed on stage during tonight's show after a disastrous technical error.

Russell T. Bird was supposed to be performing a rendition of Make Luv by Room 5, but there were some very strange noises coming out of the speakers.

The 71-year-old started playing his piano device, but something went badly wrong with the sound.

When the crackling noises got too much, Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly ran across from the wings to try and help.

The Geordie presenting duo started fiddling with the wires in a bid to sort out the sound issues.

Russell then moved on to another song but was still plagued by technical issues.

While Ant tapped away on the piano keys, Simon Cowell headed up onto the stage, closely followed by David Walliams .

The comedian cried: "What on earth is the problem? Where's this go?"

Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon then came on to dance next to Russell as he valiantly continued.

Turning to the audience, David asked: "Do we have an electrician in the house?"

There were cheers when they finally managed to get the speakers working properly.

When Russell asked if he could have another go, Ant said: "Yes, do it again. Good luck. Don't jiggle it about."

The presenters blamed the mistakes on it being unlucky series 13 as Russell wowed the audience.

Giving his response, David said: "You know what the weird thing was after all that you didn't play it much. Just a few notes. I couldn't believe it. It was a wonderfully exuberant performance. I loved it. it was joyous."

While Simon compared Russell to the "nutty professor" from Back To The Future.

However, some BGT fans were convinced that it was all 'staged'.

Taking to twitter, one viewer said: "Series 13 thing is just too much cringe. It’’s SO OBVIOUSLY set [up]!"

Another added: "So unbelievably staged"

A third said: "2nd rule of variety: dont tell them it's a set up"
