Britain's Got Talent judges gasp with horror as acrobat suffers catastrophe

Britain's Got Talent 's acrobat Kai Hou looked devastated on Saturday night as he made a crucial mistake during his act.

Kai was impressed the judges with his superhuman jumping skills, jumping through tiny hoops that were high off the ground.

But as he stepped back several yards and into the stage wings for his run up to the highest hoop, he misjudged his jump in the pressure of the moment.

He accidentally knocked the hoops and they all came tumbling down, instead of making a clean land like he had in his previous jumps.

But Kai did not let this deter him, and he simply got back up and tried again.

Afterwards, he even got judge David Walliams involved with his act, as David held up a hoop and Kai jumped through it with astonishing aim.

It was no mean feat given that towering David is 6ft2 - but Kai cleared it with absolute perfection.

Kai revealed he would love to perform for the royal family and said the show was important to him as it would give him a huge opportunity.

"Is he going to be jumping through those hoops?" asked an incredulous audience member as he set up on stage.

Some of the hoops were even spinning, meaning Kai had to time himself to the exact minisecond.

Undeterred, Kai tried again a second time (ITV)

He stacked five hoops up on top of each other, jumping several metres in the air to get through them.

When he accidentally knocked one hoop, the judges and presenters Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly shouted in horror.

But their cheers were all the more supportive when he succeeded the second time around.

Kai received a standing ovation from the audience, and the judges sent him through to the next round.

"The act is very very very cool, and so are you," Simon told him.
