Britain's Got Talent gets 892 Ofcom complaints with viewers angry at comedian and Amanda Holden

Angry Britain's Got Talent viewers have once again flooded Ofcom with complaints after taking exception to Saturday's semi-final.

The weekend saw the final batch of 2020 hopefuls battle it out for a place in the grand finale and, after all of them had performed, the judges decided to send Alesha Dixon's Golden Buzzer Act, comedian Nabil Abdul Rashid through to the final, a result which didn't go down too well with some viewers at home.

Before the result was revealed, new head judge Amanda Holden took to the stage to perform a track from her new album. And while that itself saw Amanda hit by mining accusations, it was a dress she wore earlier on in the show that sparked complaints, a week after hundreds complained to Ofcom about another revealing gown she wore on the show.

Nabil won over the judges with a series of jokes about race, religion and face masks but 733 viewers have got in touch with the broadcasting regulator about the content of his gags, with a further 136 left fuming Amanda Holden's latest dress, which gave a glimpse of a lace-up corset.

After revealing he'd received death threats as a result of his semi-final performance, comedian Nabil tweeted that he hoped he did generate complaints.

He shared a tweet from a critic on his Twitter which read: "All i saw was anti white racism and sterotyping of people with right wing political views... disgusting @Ofcom please investigate this bias racist propaganda on this show again. @SimonCowell are you not ashamed of what this progamme has become?"

Nabil responded: "I really hope this guy reported me to ofcom. I’d be heartbroken if I didn’t get some complaints but a dress and a necklace did."

Britain's Got Talent became the second most complained about show of the past 10 years last month after Diversity's Black Lives Matter inspired performance prompted 24,500 complaints to Ofcom.

That put it second behind Roxanne Pallet's 'punch' accusations against Ryan Thomas in Celebrity Big Brother 2018.
