Britain's Got Talent finalist Henry Hall dies aged 86

Britain's Got Talent star Henry Hall has died at the age of 86.

Henry, one half of singing duo The Pensionalities, reached the finals of the ITV talent show two years ago along with pal Malcolm White.

The pair delighted audiences with their renditions of crooner Frank Sinatra and his classics including You Make Me Feel So Young.

Tributes have poured in after it was confirmed that Henry had passed away peacefully at his home in Doncaster on 28 April.

His obituary reads: "In both life and death, Henry definitely did it 'his way!'

"He died peacefully at home, as he wished, with his family. He lived an extraordinary life and was known to a great many people as H from Cusworth’s Motorcycles and latterly half of The Pensionalities from Britain's Got Talent.

"He was loved by many, forgotten by none and will be greatly missed by all."

When lifelong friends Henry and Malcolm, who grew up a few miles apart in the pit villages of north Doncaster, first set foot on the BGT stage, Simon Cowell compared them to a certain presenting duo.

“I’m sitting here thinking, this is Ant and Dec in 10 years’ time,” he laughed before the judges, including Amanda Holden, David Walliams and Alesha Dixon gave them four ‘yeses’.

Simon added: “When you get to the next round I want you to sing Let’s Get Ready to Rumble.”

Originally performing under the name The Pensionaires, the singers changed to The Pensionalities because there is already an act going under that title.

They went on to not only walk through to the live shows, but also later won the public vote, sending them to the grand final.

Singing a rendition of Frank Sinatra's When You're Smiling, David told them that the performance had “put a smile on the faces of the nation".

The duo eventually finished in fifth place behind winner Tokio Myers.
