Britain's Got Talent fans in tears as Connie Talbot makes 'stunning' return to the show

Britain's Got Talent fans were reduced to tears as Connie Talbot returned to the stage to perform an original song.

Connie, who was just six when she first appeared on the first series of the ITV talent show 12 years ago, belted out a ballad at the piano as the judges and audiences at home and Wembley Arena listened spellbound.

Judge Alesha Dixon said it was like watching 'a fairytale' and viewers predict a bright future for the 18-year-old after her performance on BGT: The Champions.

Former Celebrity Big Brother star Casey Batchelor tweeted: "Oh my goodness how beautiful is this girl Connie on BGT the champions and such a stunning voice. Most definitely has a career ahead of her now."

"This is perfect. To see acts like Connie Talbot again, back where it all began. This is gonna be a fantastic six weeks," said another viewer.

"Amazing Connie! You looked and performed like a superstar. Great to see you back where it all started. Keep believing in yourself, good luck," praised another fan.

Another emotional fan commented: "I remember watching Connie when she was 6, she still brings me to tears and shivers! Unreal talent."
"Don't get tears normally but I did well up Connie, keep up the singing gal ur doing well," tweeted another.

In her memorable BGT debut back in 2007 young Connie performed a delicate rendition of Somewhere Over the Rainbow and reduced judge Amanda Holden to tears.

Connie made it all the way to the final in the very first BGT series but it was tenor singer Paul Potts who eventually took the crown.

She released an album Over the Rainbow the same year and released a further four albums - in 2008, 2009 and 2012 - before moving into releasing EPs.

Connie's last album, Matters to Me, was released in 2016 but failed to chart in the UK, reaching number 12 in Hong Kong.

The teen has built up an impressive following on social media with more than 195,000 followers on Twitter and 189,000 on Instragram.
