Britain's Got Talent child star is all grown-up as he joins EastEnders

Former Britain's Got Talent child star Charlie Wernham looks completely unrecognisable as he joins EastEnders.

The 27-year-old took part in the competition series in 2008 where he impressed viewers with his stand-up comic routine.

He has now joined the soap as Aaron Monroe, who is the brother of Bobby Beale’s girlfriend Dana and the son of dubious taxi driver Harvey Monroe.

The character showed up on the show last week but his sister Dana seemed unsettled by his appearance.

He even caught the eye of Tiffany Butcher who had split from her husband Keegan Baker.

Before EastEnders, Charlie appeared as Robbie Roscoe on Hollyoaks. He first showed up on the show in 2013 and was there until 2016.

But Charlie is probably best known for his role alongside Jack Whitehall in Bad Education, playing Mitchell between 2012 and 2014 and reprising his role for the movie.

He previously admitted he would never leave Mitchell behind as he will "always be as rude and immature" as his character.

"I will miss the cast, the crew and obviously playing Mitchell. I don't think I will ever get to work on a show like Bad Education again," he wrote in a blog post as he bid farewell to his character.

During his stint on Britain's Got Talent, he performed and got nods from all the judges Simon Cowell, Piers Morgan and Amanda Holden.

At the time, Simon said: "We've had some rotten comedians on this show, but you're the only one who's made me laugh and told jokes that I could understand."

He got through the next round and even made it to the semi-finals.

Although most of the comments for his routine were positive, and Amanda and Piers said his jokes were 'terrible' but they still loved it.

Simon even compared him to the funny version of Jim Davidson.

After competing in the series, he went on to attend the Sylvia Young Theatre School during the weekends.

Not only did he appear in an episode of The Inbetweeners as Danny Moore, but he also starred as several characters in the E4 show School of Comedy.
