intu Metrocentre is going all out by getting a VERY popular TV talent show act to flick the switch on its Christmas lights this year.
The Metrocentre is set to look very much the part for the festive season with an array of new decorations for the first time in five years, as well as an featuring an ice rink and ice bar, that was announced to a huge reaction last week.
And there is sure to be plenty of people in the Gateshead shopping mall to see recently crowned Britain's Got Talent Champions winners Twist & Pulse turn on its Christmas lights on Wednesday, November 6.
Entertainment is expected to start from 6.45pm with the big Switch On taking place at 8pm in Exhibition Square (outside Primark).
Steve & Karen from Metro Radio's Breakfast Show will host the event and entertainment will be provided by various local performers with a full breakdown of entertainment set to appear on Metrocentre's once it is all confirmed.
BGT Champion of Champions Twist & Pulse will of course perform, after beating Stavros Flatley in the nailbiting final of the ITV show last month and will join Santa Claus on stage to perform the official switch on.
Other festive events include an indoor 1km family fun run on December 1, with Metrognomes and other attractions at a cost of £5 per child and parent duo. There is a medal for everyone upon completion.
