Britain's Got Talent bosses shut down Amanda Holden miming accusations

Britain' s Got Talent have slammed accusations that Amanda Holden mimed on Saturday night's show.

After all of this year's remaining semi-finalists performed, BGT's new head judge stepped out from behind her socially distanced judging table to perform a track from her debut album Songs from My Heart in front of a virtual audience of fans and millions of viewers.

The whole show was pre-recorded and, on seeing Amanda sing Not While I'm Around from the hit musical Sweeney Todd, some people watching at home weren't convinced her vocals were live.

One blasted: "Well thanks Amanda Holden! That performance on #BGT wouldn’t get you anywhere near the final. Miming on a talent show? Need I say more" and another tweeted: "OK. Why wasn't Amanda singing live. She was miming the whole song."

Agreeing with those sentiments and reacting to the latest BGT semi-final shock result, which saw singing nurse Beth Porch snubbed by the judges a third posted: "can’t believe I wasted 2 hours on Saturday night to see Amanda Holden miming and a c**p result."

But B ritain's Got Talent bosses have denied Amanda mimed her performance, with a source telling Mirror Online: "Amanda was not miming on tonight's (Saturday's) fantastic and enchanting BGT performance."

While it did have its cynical critics, Amanda's performance also won the former West End leading lady plenty of praise.

One fan one tweeted: "that performance was STUNNING so heartfelt and amazing. Wow wow wow," and another reacted: "Voice of an angel ..and looking stunning."
