Britain's Got Talent: Ant McPartlin says Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon won't keep their clothes on

Ant McPartlin has cheekily revealed that the female judges on Britain's Got Talent keep taking their clothes off backstage.

The host - who returns to the ITV show alongside sidekick Declan Donnelly this Saturday - says Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon and forever tearing off their fancy frocks.

"We are constantly having to wrangle them. We’ve got to get them all onstage on time, which never happens! Or we turn round and one of the girls is back in her robe again," he says, quantifying that they remove their dresses so as not to crease them.

And Dec compares looking after the misbehaving judges to "herding cats".

"We’re like, ‘Come on everybody, the audience is in, the acts are backstage ready to go,'" he says.

"They always seem to be in a robe! We’re like, ‘What are you doing? You’re at work, this isn’t a spa!’. Get out of those robes!"

And in a desperate bid to speed them up, Ant reveals they bought the women and their co-judges Simon Cowell and David Walliams scooters this year.

"They are a bunch of kids so it actually worked!" he jokes.

As for how the four get on behind the scenes, Ant describes the judges' relationship as that of a "dysfunctional family".

Meanwhile, one person they're particularly looking forward to reuniting with is More Talent's Stephen Mulhern, who Dec describes as a "strange fella".

"He does crazy, weird stuff," agrees Ant.

"One day he came out dressed as a baby because obviously I'd had a baby," says Dec, who welcomed daughter Isla with wife Ali last year.

"He's asking me what it's like having a baby and asking me to show him how to put a nappy on Ant!

"I don't know how much of this is just for his own personal archive! He's a freaky guy."
