Britain's Got Talent 2020: ITV viewers divided over 'improvised' act

Questions have been raised about how a singing quartet "improvised" its way through a supposedly spur-of-the-moment song on the telly.

Viewers of Britain's Got Talent were confused when act The Noise Next Door took part in the latest round of auditions.

The quartet asked judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, David Walliams and Alesha Dixon, to give them key words to make up a song.

Having settled on the subject of Ant and Dec's wellies, they then performed a catchy song, in unison, apparently making it up on the spot.

But some viewers were not convinced it was improvised at all, The Mirror reports.

One fan said: "If it's improv how did they all sing at the same time or know when to pause to let someone else sing after saying one line?"

Another tweeted: "Enjoyed the improv' but I am suspicious as to how they all new which word to sing at the same time?"

A third added: "Made up on the spot Simon? Yet they all seemed to know the song talking out your a**e."

Others loved the performance, and many said they should have got a Golden Buzzer.

Britain's Got Talent airs Saturdays at 8pm on ITV.
