Britain's Got Talent 2019: Start date, judges and is Ant returning?

Simon Cowell and the rest of the judges will soon be back on the judging panel as Britain's Got Talent is set to hit our TV screens in April 2019.

In 2018, we saw Lost Voice Guy - comedian Lee Ridley crowned champion whilst Dec was left to present the live shows alone.

The question on everyone's lips is likely to be, "Will Ant return?" for the 2019 series after Holly Willoughby stepped in to replace him for this year's I'm A Celebrity .

We reveal everything we know so far about the new series of Britain's Got Talent, from start date, to if Ant will return and how to apply.

When does BGT 2019 start?

The start date has been confirmed for Saturday April 6. In 2018 it started on Sunday April 14, so early April was always a good bet for this year.

Who are the judges?

Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams have been on the panel for the past seven years and are returning for the eighth year running , as officially confirmed to MirrorOnline.

Is Ant returning as presenter?

In 2018, Ant McPartlin appeared in the pre-recorded auditions alongside Declan Donnelly. However, for the live shows he was absent and Dec presented alone.

Ant has previously confirmed he will return for Britain's Got Talent in 2019 despite postponing Saturday Night Takeaway until 2020. Boss Simon is also keen to have him back , he said: “I’m almost certain he’ll be back next year. And we want him back.”

If being crowned winner of Britain's Got Talent wasn't enough, the act will also receive a cash prize of £250,000 to take home. They will also have the honour of performing at the Royal Variety Performance at London's Palladium in November.

Members of the Royal Family usually attend including Kate Middleton, Prince William, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle .

Lost Voice Guy, comedian Lee Ridley who has no voice due to cerebral palsy was crowned winner of the 2018 series. He beat 10 other acts and won the £250,000 cash prize and performed at this year's Royal Variety Show.

What is the Golden Buzzer?

The Golden Buzzer was first introduced in 2014 and has the power to send an act straight to the live show semi-finals. The four judges and Ant and Dec have five buzzers between them which allows them to choose an act they think has a special and unique talent.
