Colin Thackery and comedian Kojo were voted through to the Britain’s Got Talent final after the third semi-final.

Chelsea pensioner Thackery landed a spot in Sunday night’s show after winning the public vote.

Judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams then had to decide between Kojo and fellow comic John Archer, with the entire panel voting in unison.

Thackery charmed the judges and audience with his rousing rendition of We’ll Meet Again, which he dedicated to his late wife. His emotive performance prompted Cowell to brand him a potential winner earlier in the show.

“It’s starting to sink in,” he told host Ant McPartlin, who praised him for “doing his wife proud” on stage.

The widower previously dedicated a cover of The Wind Beneath My Wings to his late partner in the audience stage.

Kojo had the judges in hysterics with a series of brilliant anecdotes from his child, featuring his strict father.

Holden was the latest judge to lose her golden buzzer act from the competition, after Chapter 13 failed to make it through to the next stage despite wowing the judges with their original song.

Dixon lost her golden buzzer choice Georgia Borg in last night’s semi-final, meaning that Cowell and Walliams are the only judges with their preferred acts - Kojo and Flakefleet Primary School - remaining in the contest.

Earlier in the show, Holden divided viewers with her revealing spider web gown.

While some fans described the striking look as her “best” of the series so far, others claimed that the sheer design was not “appropriate” for a “family” show.

Britain's Got Talent continues nightly at 7.30pm and 9.30pm on ITV this week.
