When it comes to top takeaways EVERYONE has an opinion on what to order and where to get it from and at the weekend a TV show aired what it claimed was a definitive list of the nation's favourite orders.
Appearing on Channel 5 on Friday night and then repeated on Sunday, Britain's Favourite Takeaways was based on a survey with the Great British public on what they liked to tuck into on the nights when they swerve cooking duties.
And the results threw up a few surprises, with some very passionate thoughts for and against some of the dishes on the list being promptly posted on Twitter.
Number 1 on the list was Chinese, just ahead of runner up Indian.
Third on the list went to British institution fish and chips, with pizza in fourth.
The top 5 was rounded out by burgers but it was some of the inclusions further down the list that had many viewers, and celebrity panelists like Vanessa Feltz, Sam & Mark and Phil Tufnell scratching their heads.
The biggest shock was jacket potatoes, sushi and bagels appearing higher up than pies, which languished in 17th place.
Referencing that, someone tweeted "Hmm since when is things like a baked potato and a bagel classed as a takeaway," while someone else was fuming at the fact Chinese was number 1, vented "I wouldn’t even put Chinese in my top five. "
One very vexed viewer ranted "Absolute scandal that Indian was only 2nd on BritainsFavouriteTakeaway , and don’t get me started on the fact that bagels and baked potatoes were just outside the top ten!
"Who’s ever stumbled out the pub and thought, I know, I’ll go for a bagel."
