Britain's Favourite Curry revealed ahead of National Curry Week and the winner might surprise you

It's National Curry Week from Monday and curry lovers across the nation have been given some serious food for with the reveal of Britain's Favourite Curry.

Whether you're or a bhuna or a biriyani kind of person or more of the masala persuasion than madras, many of us regularly enjoy a curry, whether it's at home in front of the telly or at our local Indian restaurant.

And curries, which are now often referred to as Britain's favourite dish, are also something that people get very passionate about.

So there are sure to be a few raised eyebrows at the reveal of Britain's Favourite Curry, based on a study by butchers Farmison & Co, which looked at the curries which got the most Google searches.

Biryani comes out on top for Brits with an average of 27,062 Google searches being made across the UK each month, followed closely by Rogan Josh (18,100) and then Bhuna.

Surprisingly, both Madras and Tikka Masala are languishing at the bottom of the top 10 in the list based search data gathered from the last 12 months from Google using the keyword planner tool.

4. Jalfrezi - 14,800

5. Balti - 12,100

6. Vindaloo - 12,100

7. Korma - 9,900

8. Madras - 9,900
