Britain’s driving test pass rate reaches highest level in years

  • Some 50.7 per cent of tests conducted in August were successful, an increase from 50.1 per cent in July and the best performance since May 2021.

  • Officials are encouraging this approach as part of measures to tackle a significant backlog of driving tests.
  • A total of 145,610 tests were conducted in August, with the backlog of future bookings reaching 644,398.
