Britain's biggest family welcomes its 28th member as 19-year-old daughter gives birth

Britain's biggest family has just grown by another member.

On Saturday Millie Radford, the seventh eldest child of Noel and Sue Radford, announced that she'd welcomed a daughter named Ophelia.

Nineteen-year-old Millie broke the news of her baby girl's birth with a photo of her tiny feet and hospital tags as she lay on a blush pink comforter blanket.

"The biggest chapter of our lives has begun," the new mum wrote with a love heart.

And in a post on the Radford family's Instagram page, the family said with a black and white photo of Sue holding her granddaughter's hand: "Welcome to the family beautiful Ophelia.

"I can't even put into words how incredibly proud I am of @millieradford you did AMAZING bringing this beautiful blessing into the world. We love you both so much."

Her older brother Luke messaged: "You’ve never been more ready Mil.

"You've been amazing through your pregnancy can't wait to watch you grow into an amazing mother."

Last month, sharing a photo of herself stroking Millie's bump, Sue wrote: "We’re so very proud of the beautiful young lady you are @millieeradfordd and we just know you're going to be THE most amazing mummy to Ophelia, hurry up baby girl you have so many people who can’t wait to hold you."

Millie has previously said the baby's father is around her age.

They are no longer together but he has vowed to be a part of his baby's life.

The new arrival makes Noel, 49, and Sue, 45, who run a bakery business, grandparents to six.

Their 22nd child Heidie was born in April.

The couple had their first child Christopher in 1989 when Sue was 14.

They have 22 children including their son Alfie who was stillborn in 2014.

The family from Morecambe, who run Radford's Pie Company, appeared in the Channel 4 documentary 15 Kids and Counting in 2012, 20 Kids and Counting to mark their 25th wedding anniversary in 2018 and 21 Kids and Counting last year.
