Britain reports 242 COVID-19 deaths and 6,573 new cases

Britain reported 242 deaths within 28 days of a positive COVID-19 test on Thursday, a drop on the 315 reported on Wednesday.

New cases increased to 6,573 from 6,385 the previous day, government data showed, while the number of people who had received the first dose of a vaccine rose to 20,982,571.
