A British woman has been killed on holiday in Greece after a car crashed into a bakery she and her husband were visiting.
The tragedy occurred in Tigaki on the island of Kos on the afternoon of Friday, May 30.
The pair of British tourists are understood to have been sitting on tables outside when the driver of an SUV lost control of his vehicle and smashed into the store.
An investigation into the cause of the collision is underway.
An eyewitness said: "The driver was in a state of shock, clutching his head, shouting, "What happened, what did I do?'"
The driver and the couple were immediately taken to hospital after the crash, where the woman died from her injuries.
The victim's husband reportedly remains in a critical condition, while the driver suffered minor injuries.
Footage from local media outlets shows the front of the bakery smashed in as emergency services cordoned off the scene.
