The family of an elderly British tourist argued for several years about whether his fortune should be left to a bellboy at his favourite Turkish hotel, it has been claimed.
Charles George Courtney left the lion's share of his money to Taşkın Daştan in his will, as well as smaller sums to other employees at the Korumar Hotel De Luxe in Aydin, Turkey.
In the days before he passed away, Mr Courtney, originally from Hastings, East Sussex, had reportedly told his nephew to sell his properties and left exact instructions on who should get what money.
It is understood he had first visited the hotel in 1990 and spent a total of 52 holidays there, with his last coming just two months before his death in 2015, reports the Hürriyet Daily News.

The amount given to Mr Daştan is unclear, but he told the English language Turkish newspaper: "I will use the money given to me for my children’s education."
He vowed to continue working at the hotel despite the money being enough to retire on.
Mr Courtney is understood to have previously given the bellboy - who he had grown close to during his visits - money to help pay for his kids' schooling.

"Just after his death, we got a call from Britain that Courtney had left some money from his inheritance," Daştan said.
However, it appears Mr Courtney's family did not agree to the allocation of inheritance for several years, according to HDN.
The newspaper claims the will "caused a stir in the family" with "some family members opposed to it".
And it was only at the end of last month that Mr Courtney's nephew arrived in Turkey to give out the money, it reports.
Mr Daştan said he had first met his benefactor when he carried his suitcase for him and he "always acted nice to me".
The bellboy previously told the Bayez Gazete : "At the hotel, we treat everyone equally, we treat them as family, not as tourists."
Mr Courtney always stayed in room 401 and it became known as 'Charlie's Room' with Mr Daştan adding it will always remind him and his colleagues of their favourite guest.
