Pattaya police received a report of a violent assault on a British man at a condominium in Pattaya on Friday morning.
At a house in South Pattaya Soi 2, officers found Duncan Hamish Kirkwood, 65, with multiple cuts to his head and blood covering his face. Rescue teams provided first aid before rushing him to hospital.
According to the investigation, the attackers were four transgender women, who had fled before police arrived.
Mr Kirkwood told officers he had arranged for two women to provide companionship, but when they arrived at the location, four transgender women showed up instead. He refused their services, but they allegedly demanded a “time fee” of 10,000 baht each — a total of 40,000 baht.
When Mr Kirkwood declined to pay, an argument broke out inside the room, during which he was attacked with a machete, sustaining severe head injuries. He managed to escape and sought help from a security guard as the assailants fled the scene.
Police said Mr Kirkwood was being treated in hospital and would be questioned further once his condition improved. Investigators were reviewing CCTV footage to track down the suspects.
