A toddler has been rushed to hospital with serious head injuries after he fell 20ft when his mum slipped in a freak accident in Mallorca.
The mother is thought to have been carrying the 19-month-old boy when she reportedly lost her footing on a pedestrian walkway in the small village of Sa Calobra.
The exact circumstances of the incident have still to be clarified.
Island newspaper Ultimhora.es reported that the accident happened "on the pedestrian walkway that leads to the tunnels of the Torrent de Pareis" at about 1.45pm today.
Workers from a well-known restaurant in the area alerted police, saying a child had fallen about seven metres.

The Civil Guard and SAMU emergency service were called and a rescue helicopter brought in.
The baby, accompanied by his mother, was rushed to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit of the Hospital de Son Espases because of the seriousness of his injuries.
Police also took the child's father to hospital.
The child is understood to have suffered head injuries and is in a serious condition.
He was "conscious and crying" after the fall and doctors are currently doing tests to determine the extent of his injuries.

The family had arrived at Sa Calobra by boat and were walking along the raised pedestrian promenade when the accident happened.
Local media say the parents rescued the baby and rushed to the restaurant where the alarm was raised.
A police officer, doctor and nurse first on the scene gave first aid before other medics arrived in the helicopter.
It is not known if the family was on holiday in Mallorca or living there.
