A British hairdresser has died after undergoing 'cut price' cosmetic surgery in Iran.
Louise Smith, 37, travelled to the Middle Eastern country for the operation while living in Dubai
She reportedly became obsessed with changing her appearance after gaining weight during lockdown.
But Louise, from Coventry, West Midlands, passed away on July 28.
Her friend Danni Chauhan told the paper she could not comprehend what had happened.
She said: “What a young life lost all because we want to look a certain way that social media portrays us to look like. I’m so sorry you had to go through this alone.”

Her family are still coming to terms with the devastating news.
Louise’s sister Sharon Elston, 51, told The Sun: “We are all in shock at the moment.”
The hairdresser worked for Toni & Guy in the UK for 19 years and is reported to have moved to the Middle East in 2019 for a better life after a relationship ended.
Her family in the UK are now struggling to bring her body back home.

Louise's dad Neil said the process was moving “incredibly slowly” and he has no clear date for the sad homecoming.
Around £14,000 has been raised through crowdfunding.
Iran has become a global centre for cut-price cosmetic surgery with estimates in 2019 suggesting more than 150,000 nose jobs were carried out there yearly.
This compares with the UK figure of just 2,000.
