A British father has been killed and his wife seriously hurt in a hit and run crash in Greece.
The 57-year-old man was knocked down and dragged for several metres by the vehicle in the Halkidiki region of Greece.
The family were crossing a busy boulevard about two miles away from the Alexander the Great Beach Hotel where the family were staying.
It's said the vehicle sped away at great speed on Sunday evening.
Paramedics desperately tried to save the father, who is yet to be named, but he died at the scene.
The wife remains at the Halkidiki General Hospital in Polygyros.
She is thought to have suffered severe injuries to her limbs.
But the two children, who were present at the incident, were reportedly unharmed.
It is unclear where in the UK the family are from.
Police in Greece, however, have launched a nationwide appeal for witnesses to come forward after the incident in the holiday resort.
"The children had already managed to cross the road and so were on the other side,
"We are also working on camera street footage in hope that we can locate the car's number plate and through that the driver," a police spokesman told The Sun Online .
The dad's body was taken to the Kassandra Medical Centre, about an hour away from Greece's northern capital; of Thessaloniki.
A doctor at the medical centre said it would remain there until Monday.
A spokesman for the Foreign Office said it is "supporting a family involved in a road traffic accident in Greece".
