Brit Awards 2020: Harry Styles and Jack Whitehall pay tribute to Caroline Flack

Jack Whitehall and Harry Styles paid tribute to Caroline Flack last night during this year's Brit Awards.

Comedian Jack said that Caroline was a "kind and vibrant person with an infection sense of fun" as he took to the stage at the O2.

The former presenter of Love Island, Caroline, was found dead at her home in London on Saturday at the age of 40.

Addressing the audience, Jack said: "Over the weekend we had the awful news that a member of the Brits family, our friend Caroline Flack, tragically passed away.

"She was a kind and vibrant person with an infectious sense of fun.

"She will be sorely missed. I'm sure I speak for everyone here when I say our thoughts are with her friends and family."

Singer Lewis Capaldi then performed his song Someone You Loved, while Tom Walker also spoke of his sadness at Caroline's death as he arrived on the red carpet.

He said: "It's just really upsetting when somebody of that age decides to… it’s just really horrific and frightening.

"I think the media need to have a little look at themselves and what they are pulling people apart for in their personal lives, because everybody has got personal lives but not everybody has got personal lives that are thrust into the limelight.

"It’s a difficult one isn’t it? But I think it’s just a god damn shame."

Harry Styles, who was in a relationship with Caroline for three months in 2011, arrived at the awards ceremony wearing a black ribbon.

Black ribbons are traditionally worn as a symbol of remembrance or mourning, with some fans believing the pin may be in tribute to Caroline.

Harry has not yet spoken publicly about Caroline's death.
