
A British man accused of shooting his Thai wife to death in Maha Sarakham and fleeing the scene was arrested at a hotel room in nearby Khon Kaen on Tuesday.
The shooting happened on Tuesday morning in front of the homestay that the victim ran in Village Moo 4 of Maha Sarakham, police said.
The body of a Thai woman, identified later as Phatcharee Uraphanom, 44, was found lying dead with gunshot wounds when police arrived at the scene.
Initial inquiries identified the suspect as Anthony James Condron, 58, from England.
Local residents say the couple had lived together for several years at the Janpanom Farm Stay, which Phatcharee ran. They had no children.
Police said the couple had reportedly had an argument prior to the shooting. The exact motive was under investigation.
Authorities later learned that the suspect had fled in the pickup truck of friend and was near a shopping mall in Khon Kaen province.
Police officers traced the suspect to a hotel and he was arrested inside a hotel room.
