- A 60-year-old British man from London has been arrested in Dubai for allegedly filming missiles during the ongoing US-Iran conflict.
- The man, who was on holiday, deleted the video immediately when asked but still faces charges under the United Arab Emirates' (UAE) cybercrime laws.
- He is one of 21 individuals of various nationalities arrested under these laws, which prohibit broadcasting 'false news, rumours or provocative propaganda'.
- If convicted, the Briton could face up to two years in prison, a fine ranging from £4,066 to £40,660, or both, along with deportation.
- Human rights advocate Radha Stirling warned that UAE authorities are highly sensitive due to regional tensions, and seemingly innocuous social media activity can lead to severe penalties for foreigners.
