Brit, 29, dies after falling unconscious on British Airways flight to the Caribbean

A 29-year-old Brit has died after falling unconscious on a British Airways flight to the Caribbean.

The man was travelling with his mum to the island of Antigua, according to reports.

Emergency crews rushed to meet the flight at VC Bird International Airport.

The man, from London, became "unresponsive" on a flight on Thursday, June 22.

He later died at around 6.30pm after attempts to save his life from brave airline staff and emergency services tragically failed.

He had been diagnosed with hypotension (low blood pressure), muscular dystrophy, and ulcerative colitis, his mum told emergency services after they attempted to revive the man.

Antigua police said: "We are investigating this incident like we investigate all incidents of this nature.

However, foul play is not suspected at this stage and we will be working with the family and will be cooperating with them fully.

"We offer our condolences to the mother and the rest of the family. Imagine coming to our beautiful island and to end up like this. It is so sad. Our sympathy is with the family."

British Airways also confirmed there was a "medical emergency", reports The Sun.

The Foreign and Commonwealth Office said in a statement: "We are assisting the family of a British man who died in Antigua and Barbuda.”
