Bristol weather will see calm Friday before stormy Saturday

Met Office weather forecasters are predicting that Friday will be a dull, dry day with little weather to speak of - before a stormy Saturday hits Britain.

Friday's forecast for Britain will see relatively calm conditions in Bristol and the South West, with light winds, little chance of rain and temperatures just below average for the time of year.

The day will start overcast, but by mid afternoon, there will be some sunny spells which will warm the city up to around 21 or 22 degC.

Friday will end with cloudy conditions returning, and a cool night ahead as the wind picks up.

But Friday's weather will be the calm before the storm - literally.

The advance forecast from the Met Office for Saturday is for a bit of overnight rain heralding a marked change in conditions.

The wind will turn from the south west and get stronger, and by lunchtime and throughout the afternoon, there will be thunderstorms with heavy rain.
